DANGER CAY: Chapter 115 –Not Enough Explanations
I thought that having all the lights go out and having our heroes take out all the goons in the darkness would be an easy, if cheating, way to get a necessary fight scene out of the way without have to, you know, actually draw a big fight scene. In the end I wound up creating more problems for myself because I kept having to plaster over the logic holes with things requiring more explanations, like how Billy and Elwood were able to free themselves, and how the gang was able to take out all of Peaches’ goons in the dark.
Having it all be part of an elaborate plan of Hannibal’s seemed to me appropriate an a very “Doc Savage”-ish piece of plot. But this too required explanations which would have been easier just to show the readers… except that then I’d lose the suspense I wanted and the surprise when I do the Big Reveal. The problem is I now have several Big Reveal circling over the island like… well, like the eye-wall of a hurricane, which is getting closer with every page.
What is Hannibal up to anyway? And what happened to Ginger? And where did Peaches get to…?
We’ll be finding out eventually, but in the meantime, Hey Look! It’s Grogan in a goofy hat!
